Aboriginal Artist

Mim Cole

Mim Cole is a Larrakia Aboriginal visual artist from Darwin, Northern Territory. Since her teenage years, Mim has been shaped by the artmaking of her mother and a large, creative family, developing a natural instinct for composition, colour, and storytelling through art.

Working under her creative practice Mimmim, Mim blends traditional and abstract compositions across painting, printmaking, and design. Deeply inspired by the rawness of ancient Aboriginal art, she pushes the boundaries of her practice using vibrant colour alongside a traditional palette to express dynamic movement and energy in every piece. Her work is rooted in identity, family, country, nature, community, unity, and healing, themes she channels intuitively in everything she creates.

"I created Mimmim as a viable artistic outlet for my passion for art and nurturing others, whilst providing financial freedom and cultural pride for myself and my family. I would like to use my talents to share the beauty of Aboriginal art in unique ways and create conversations that lead to healing and unifying people." Mim Cole

Alongside her husband, Mim co-founded a charity dedicated to breaking the cycle of Indigenous youth disadvantage. Supporting others has deepened her own journey of self-healing and helped her find her voice through art. Through Mimmim, Mim hopes to inspire others toward creative freedom and a truly liberated spirit.
